Hampshire lumpwood charcoal
We are proud to be selling our Hampshire lumpwood charcoal direct to you, not only will you be supporting our work resorting out own woodland here in the heart of the Southdowns National park, you can be assured that this product is from a sustainable sources because it is Grown in Britain certified.
For the last 10 years we have been firing charcoal in the traditional way using ring kilns, in 2018 with the help of funding received from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development we now have a mobile retort kiln this has reduced the burn time to around 8 hours.
There are many advantages to using British lumpwood charcoal over imported charcoal or briquettes these include:
- Easy to light
- Ready to cook quickly
- Can be topped up as you cook
- Produces little ash
- Contributes to sustaining local woodlands, local skills, and rural trade
- Is not transported around the globe
- No additives
Shipping
Because of the nature of the product we will be boxing up our charcoal with a friend, or three. to make shipping economic we will be sending in a box that will hold 4 bags it’s your job to fill the box.
