This is our basic Charcoal making course it is a one day introduction to charcoal making using an oil barrel kiln. You will learn:

Charcoal history

Selection of timber

Loading the kiln

Running the kiln

Shutting down the burn

Grading charcoal

As well as learning to use the oil barrel kiln we are adding to the training the use of our Hookway charcoal retort. This is space age charcoal making but on a small scale 😉

The course will be based in our own woodland here in the heart of the Hampshire Downs Nr Petersfield.
